Our Pre-k class is a joyful environment that embraces the wonder and curiosity of preschoolers! We strive to prepare each child not just for kindergarten, but for a lifetime of learning.
AGE DEADLINE: Students must be 4 years old by August 31.
However....
Children turning 4 after May 1 (who have not yet attended a preschool program) may be a better fit for the Wee 3's class.

Is My 4 Year-Old Ready
for School?
Pre-k is ideal for the child who...
does well when separated from their caregiver
enjoys group play with other children
respects adults in authority
already attends structured activities run by other adults, like Sunday School, Awana, dance or soccer
speaks clearly
uses basic art supplies, like crayons and markers
is able to go up and down stairs
can sit and listen to a 5 minute story read to them
uses the potty 100% independently, including wiping a bowel movement
tells a grownup what they need verbally
follows simple 2-step directions
engages in self-directed play
participates in household chores, like picking up toys
Signs that a child MAY NOT YET BE READY for the classroom:
little or no experience being separated from their caregiver
new situations prompt fear or anxiety
speech isn't understood by non-family members
watches other children play but refuses to join them
says they are tired a few minutes into any activity
needs help wiping or has frequent potty accidents
displays a pattern of disobedience (says "no" to parent)
is not asked to pick up toys or do other family chores
needs a parent or sibling to help them play
Should My Child Wait A Year?
If you're unsure of your child's readiness for Pre-k, consider enrolling in the Wee 3's class instead. This is often the best decision for students who who have never been in a classroom setting before and/or those who turn 4 after May 1. The shorter class length and slower pace provides a more gradual introduction to a class environment.
We also strongly recommend the student participate in a weekly activity away from caregivers, such as Sunday School or Awana.
